The product could be improved with a solid insert for the lid so the user could store the grated product in the 'frig ready for use. That is absolutely the only thing it lacks. It was yesterday. I used the slicer plate to prepare onions and peppers for a stir fry. It did what it was supposed to do fairly well. The blade wasn't as sharp as I'd have liked and I think that impacted the performance a bit. My biggest gripe with this item is that it isn't as big as the pictures make it out to be. The grating surface is actually quite narrow. So you won't be able to get large chunks of cheese or whole veggies on there unless you cut them up first. Now onto the good: I like how you can store this thing. All the plates fit inside it nicely. When assembling, you can't put it together wrong because everything only fits together one way. Clean up after use was a snap. I didn't even have to toss it in the dish washer. Just a good rinse with some hot water and it looked like new again.
